Base camp is established when we discover how to set financial goals.  The first step is to evaluate

your current spending habits to pinpoint your starting position.  From there, you can “Choose Your

Destination” and begin to look forward to where you want to be and how much travel time you

have.  Then a map can be drawn to start you on your journey.

The second leg of the journey is , “Setting Your Compass” where you learn the basics of debt.

Understanding the tool of credit is a financial journey essential.  Credit is like a compass – if you know

how to use it properly, it will help you get where you want to go.  However, if you don’t understand it –

it may get you even more lost!

Next you learn how important it is to “Leave Directions” If something unexpected should happen,

leaving directions ensures that your affairs are properly taken care of.  While on your financial journey it

is vital to know how to best structure those directions, who can help you properly set them up.

No one would think of going on a journey without taking a few things along.  “Packing Your

Backpack” shows you how to determine your risk management requirements.  When traveling you

need to make sure you have the right provisions for yourself and your loved ones.  Similarly, identifying

what kind and how much insurance is appropriate is yet another part of your financial journey!

As with most trips you can expect some bumps, bruises, and scrapes along the way.  In order to make

sure you can handle what comes your way, we show you how to "Check Your First Aid Kit”

where we explore living benefits – critical illness, disability, health, and long term care insurance!

Camping is a fun adventure, and all the better when you have your shelter needs well taken care of.

Here you learn how to “Set Up Your Tent”, covering terminology and strategies to finance your

home most effectively, so you can get the tent up and be out of debt faster!

No hiker wants to walk around in circles.  In order to best enjoy the scenery and stay on the path we

offer "Map Reading 101"   During this informative session you will explore such valuable concepts

as compounding, inflation, mutual funds and segregated funds, and basic terminology.

After getting a strong grasp on the basics you head into more interesting terrain.  In

"Map Reading 102" you view the exciting vistas of risk and reward, volatility, fund types, MERs,

and loads.

"One of the highlights of a good backpacking trip is the fun excursions along the main path.  "Taking

an Educational Day Trip"  helps you learn about RESPs, Scholarship Trusts, In Trust Accounts,

and Universal Life as options for funding the Post Secondary Expedition.

You have hopes and dreams for your future.  There are many ways you can extend your vision to help

you with "Seeing Further Down the Path" When you look into retirement planning you see

different options for funding your travels and how to travel first class on an economy fare.

Every journey has to end and every mountain has a summit.  When you are "Approaching the

Summit" of your financial mountain you want to make sure that you leave your affairs in order.

Simple planning along the path can make this an enjoyable and reassuring part of the trip.  Learn the

steps to take, the guides to help you, and the questions you need to ask yourself to make this leg of

the journey smooth.

One of the greatest joys of climbing a mountain is "Planting Your Flag" Announcing your

accomplishment and sharing the joy with others is a feeling that is hard to beat.  In this fun session

you learn how you can share your abundance and make the world a better place through charitable

giving.  Having the flag at least partially funded by the government in the form of tax breaks makes

reaching the summit all the more enjoyable.
