Pamela grew up in Saskatchewan and moved to B.C. to pursue a degree in Commerce. After 2 years in the program she came to the conclusion that the Corporate World was not for her. She found that what she was being taught in school did not necessary apply out in the real world. She cared too much about other people and did not have the appetite for a ruthless attitude that was needed to survive.
She moved back home, but still ended up in the banking industry out of a need to fund her first passion working with horses. She worked her way up from the administration side, to the Investment and Credit side of the Banking Industry. After learning as much as she could in the areas of administration, investment, and lending, she found that there were a lot of people living quiet lives of desperation, being a slave to their job and finances.
The banks were not willing to let their employees teach people about how the banking system worked and people did not have a lot of access to this education. The banks like having people kept in the dark about investment and credit for the simple fact that this was more profitable for them. Quality time was only spent with clients who could make the bank the most money. Pamela had enough of this mentality and wanted to leave. But after 9 years in the banking industry, where did one go from there?
A friend had encouraged her to take her Mortgage Broker Course to become self-employed as a Mortgage Specialist. She has since been with Unisource Mortgage Solutions, now Axiom Mortgage Solutions, since 2004. During this time, she explored the world of investment and insurance outside the banks and decided to pursue her Life Insurance License to offer more value to her clients than just mortgages. She is able to incorporate her client’s mortgage financing with their other financial goals and teach them that they always have options.
In her pursuit of an overall financial education, Pamela wanted to set up a team of specialists who could assist in various areas of insurance, investment and education. With a few unsuccessful attempts to do so, she met Tammy Johnston of The Financial Guides, who shared the same vision. Tammy had already done the groundwork and set up systems to be able to accomplish this. Pamela decided to join forces with Tammy and become part of The Financial Guides in October of 2009.
She brings her expertise as a Mortgage Specialist to the team, shares her drive to educate and assist people who want to better their lives financially in order to gain more freedom in the form of time. More time to spend with their families and pursue their dreams.
By helping other people to better their lives financially, also assists Pamela in pursuing her dream further, which is to help out people who are dealing with hardships and guide them to a better life, physically, mentally and financially.
